How do I buy cryptocurrency in my local currency?

Buying cryptocurrency in your local currency is easy with OKx. You can use these simple steps to buy cryptocurrency.

1. Log in to your OKx account and click “Buy Cryptocurrency” in the top menu.

2. You will see the Quick Transactions tab with an interactive buying widget. First, select the cryptocurrency you want to use for your purchase. Then, select the cryptocurrency you want to buy.

3. Enter the amount of local currency you want to use to buy cryptocurrency. Or, you can choose the amount of cryptocurrency you want to buy and we will calculate the amount you need to pay.

4. Choose the payment method for buying cryptocurrencies. Depending on your location, you may have several different ways of purchasing.

5. Click Buy to create your purchase order.

6. In the Quick Deal section, you will see all the quotes you can use to buy cryptocurrencies. The best offers are highlighted and it is based on fees, delivery time and seller ratings. To get more information about the seller, click on the Info button.

7. After selecting the best offer, click “Buy” to finalize your order. OKx uses third-party vendors to purchase cryptocurrencies. You will be taken to the seller’s website to complete the purchase. Click Pay to Seller to leave OKx and complete your purchase.

8. You will be redirected to the vendor’s website where you can complete the purchase. Once processed, you will be able to receive the cryptocurrency into your funding account.

In the “You pay” section enter the amount of local currency you want to use for your purchase. If you want to purchase a specific amount of cryptocurrency, please enter it in the “You receive” section.

How to deposit cryptocurrency

Step 1: Go to the deposit section

After logging in, click “Deposit” or navigate to “Assets” from the top right of the OKx homepage and click “Deposit” to display the deposit page.

Step 2: Select the cryptocurrency you want to deposit

Select the cryptocurrency you want to deposit and its deposit network. In our example, we want to deposit BTC. When depositing BTC, you can select “BTC-Bitcoin”, “BTCK-ERC20”, “BTC-Lightning” and “BTCK-OKExChain” as the deposit network.

After making your selection, click Continue.

First-time users may see a pop-up window reminding them that they only need to deposit the relevant assets to the address provided and that the error is irreversible. Click OK to continue.

Step 3: Select and confirm your deposit address

Once you have selected the deposit currency, you can select the account to receive the funds. The available options are a funding account and a trading account.

After you have selected your receiving account, select a BTC deposit address from the drop-down menu or click Add New Address to do so.

You can now deposit BTC to the selected address by sending it to your OKx account. You can also view your deposit history at the bottom of the “Deposit” section.

Depositing cryptocurrency in the app

Step 1: Navigate to the Deposits section

First, click Assets on the toolbar at the bottom.

Then, in the “Overview” section, click on Deposits.

Step 2: Select the cryptocurrency to deposit

On the Deposit screen, search for the cryptocurrency you want to deposit in the field at the top. You can also scroll through the list of available assets. To continue, click on the relevant asset.

Step 3: Make a deposit

You will see a QR code representing your OKx account address, and the same original address will appear on the next screen.

Copy the deposit address and paste it into the recipient address field of the cryptocurrency wallet you want to send funds to. Or, if your wallet has a QR code reader, you can scan the provided QR code directly.

Next, enter the amount of cryptocurrency you want to deposit into your wallet. It is very important to double check the details entered – make sure that the address entered for the recipient – i.e. the recipient – is the same as the address provided by OKx. Entering an incorrect address here will result in the loss of funds.

Finally, click the “Confirm” or similar button in your wallet to initiate your deposit. When the cryptocurrency network confirms the transaction, your deposit will appear in your OKx account.
